Screening for Hypertension along Kalerwe Road, Kampala-Uganda

About this outreach

During two community outreaches at Masanafu Roundabout and Kalerwe/Bwaise, we engaged eager participants, educating them on hypertension and conducting blood pressure screenings. Most were aware of the symptoms but lacked understanding of the condition's severity. The goals achieved included educating about hypertension, gathering community feedback, screening over 100 individuals, providing referrals for those diagnosed, explaining results, and offering free anti-hypertensive medication to eligible participants. These efforts aimed to combat hypertension's prevalence and raise awareness about its management, fostering healthier communities.
